Imagine thousands of choir members from all across the globe, dressing in traditional attire and parading through the streets of downtown Cincinnati USA. That is how the seventh World Choir Games will get under way on July 4, 2012, when the largest international choral competition in the world comes to North America for the first time.

Plan to attend the RCP Power Lunch on February 15 to hear how this worldwide event is a perfect fit for our city and how it matches with one of Cincinnati USA’s core brand equities from our presenters, Terry Dukes, Sergeant with Cincinnati Police Department’s District Five and David Bareswilt, Project Manager with Turner Construction. You will learn what efforts are being taken now to “brand” Cincinnati USA and how the value of this event can extend beyond the 11 days of the summer of 2012.

The luncheon will be held at Raffel’s Catering located at 10160 Reading Road in Evendale from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The cost is $15 for members and non-members are $20. At the event, you will have a fantastic opportunity to network with members of other area chambers including: Evendale, Forest Park, Norwood, Reading, Springdale, and Woodlawn. You are welcome to bring literature about your business as there will be display tables set up in the networking area.

You can also be a sponsor of the Luncheon for only $250. You will receive a 6 foot display table, two complimentary meals, as well as be listed as a sponsor on all the advertisements for the event. For more information, contact julie@springdalechamber.org.

Plan to attend the Regional Commerce Partnership Holiday Luncheon that will be held on Wednesday, December 14 at the the Hidden Creek Clubhouse at GE Park located at 12110 Princeton Pike. At the event, you will have a fantastic opportunity to network with members of other area chambers including: Evendale, Forest Park, Norwood, Reading, Springdale, and Woodlawn. You are welcome to bring literature about your business as there will be display tables set up in the networking area.

Tri-County Mall is hosting the first annual Women in Business Networking Event on Friday, September 9 from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm. The event will be held in center court near the fountain in front of Dillard’s. Women of all ages and backgrounds in the business world are invited to this Free Inspirational and Educational Networking Event! Your business can participate in this event by sponsoring a manned informational tabletop display for just $30.00*

RCP Power Lunch – October 19, 2011

Our presenter will be Cornelius McGrady, Consumer Educator from the Consumer Division of the Ohio Attorney General’s office in Columbus. He will present a workshop called “Supporting Ohio Small Business” that helps small business owners understand Ohio’s consumer laws and recognize scams that target their organizations. A few of the topics addressed during the workshop include:

o Advertising guidelines
o Cancellation rights of consumers
o The Deposit Rule
o Gift card requirements
o Refund Policies

The Attorney General’s Office receives tens of thousands of complaints each year on scammers who defraud both consumers and businesses. In addition to the information provided on Ohio’s consumer laws, Cornelius will discuss common scams the office sees that target businesses and how you can avoid becoming a victim.

Members of the RCP participating chambers (Evendale, Forest Park, Reading, Norwood, Springdale, and Woodlawn) are welcome to bring company brochures to the power lunch as display tables will be set up. If you would like to be a sponsor of the luncheon, the cost is $250. You will receive 2 complimentary lunches, recognition at the meeting as well as have a 6’ display table set up for your use.
